There was a lot of telling instead of showing when it came to portraying the internal struggles that the characters had, which made it a bit over-emphasized for my tastes, only because I could tell it was obviously going to create the inevitable misunderstanding later. Despite their seemingly opposite personalities, you can tell how the characters would be a good fit for each other in all the ways they show patience and understanding, which is sweet to see. I liked that both leads here are autistic, and we see how that plays into their interactions with each other.

She also continues to take care in expanding the leads’ vulnerabilities and internal struggles so that they're unique individually. Out of the three books in this series, this was definitely the most amusing thanks to all the banter and the sunshine/grumpy dynamic. Talia Hibbert remains consistent with writing cute and funny stories that have endearing lead characters. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore-and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else.
